An update... I know you're all excited!

Ok it has been a while since we have posted so here is an update from May until just this last week. In May Whitney and Jacee were performing in Orem for dance.

They invited us to go down with them to watch. We got a hotel room, we took Brian for his senior citizen discount and had a fun and relaxing weekend.

Boy, are these kids a load of laughs.

On Memorial day we headed off to the cemeteries to visit my parents graves and Brian's twin Brother Bruce's grave.

We sure do miss them all but are so grateful for the knowledge that we have of being together with them again.

Usually Robyn's family goes to visit the graves with us but since the weather was so rainy they decided it was to cold to take the girls. Addi loves bowling so she invited Brian and I, Brittany and Andy, and the Burrows to go Bowling.

It was so busy that some of the guys couldn't find bowling balls that their fingers fit in until the end but it turned out to be a fun day.

After bowling we headed to Olive Garden to celebrate Cody getting his associates degree. We are so proud of him for all of the hard work he puts into school. Sorry no pictures we were to busy eating. Go right a head and enjoy a few more pictures of us bowling.

In June it was off to girls camp for me. We went to Lava and had a great time.

I tell you what, you never know what to expect from this group. We laughed a lot and had a great time spending time together as a ward.

At the end of June we enjoyed West Haven Days. We went to breakfast with Robyn and Oakley. Since Cody was a part of the Youth City Counsel Addi and him got to ride on the float. This years theme was past, present, and future. Whitney was also in the parade because she is an officer at Rocky Mountain and Jacee was in it with her dance company.

Who can resist sparklers? Not Grandpa Brian, he bought a whole case when he went to Sam's Club with the girls. Addi is such a good sharer and invited Laurie, Patty, Andy, and Brittany over to do sparklers with her.

The Children's parade has become a tradition with our family it is something Brian and Addi look forward to each year. This year Brian walked with Addi and Cody walked with Oakley. Can I just tell you I have two of the cutest grandkids in the world.

Since the girls got free tickets to the rodeo we went on Wednesday which was family night. It was so fun to spend time with the girls. Brittany couldn't go because her and Andy had scouts but they should know that we missed them.

Addi really wanted a snow cone but once we got it she refused to eat it because she just wanted a bottle of water. Have no fear Oakley had no problem eating the whole thing.

When we first got there Addi was asleep just like last year. She sleep through most of the pre-rodeo events but woke up in time to see the sky divers. She also told me she was going to mutton bust just like her dad. I told her Granny said no.

Our favorite part of the whole rodeo is the bull riding here are just a couple of the pictures that Robyn took.

A little out of order but the other day we walked out our front door to see the neighbors out on their front lawn. Not so odd you say??? Well they were out on their front lawn on the couch. A little redneck, you think? No, they were just laying new flooring so the front lawn was a good place to store the furniture for a couple of hours.

On Memorial Day we went to the cemetary. They had balloons and markers and you could write a message to a loved one and then all at the same time we let them go. It was very neat and touching.

It was a little windy, but that just made for better balloon flying when we let them go.

27 Years

On October 7th Brian and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. I have now been married longer than I was single. Brian made reservations at the Anniversary Inn in Logan (with some help from his secretary, thanks Robyn). We have done this for the last 4 years. Heather and Adam got us started on this great tradition of going somewhere for our anniversary when they sent us to Orem the year they got married as a thank you. It is so relaxing just doing what we want with no schedule other than asking, "do you want to do this or go here or go there".

Brian, thanks for 27 wonderful years. You're the best, don't know what I did to deserve you, but I sure am glad I'm married to you! Love Nae

Glad to be Back to Part-time

I just finished two months of working full time, I have just two letters for this, PU. Working full time stinks. I did like the extra money but my house is a mess. I had flashbacks of when I worked full time when the kids were little and the kitchen cabinet never got cleaned off. Which is kind of surprising since I don't know how the cabinet could have had anything on it since every dish we own was in the sink. I had to resort to using the good utensils if we wanted to eat. Which brings me to another thing about working full time. You're so tired when you get home from work that you spend all the extra money you made on eating out. I hope I can remember how to work the stove, not that I was so good at working it before.

I did like everything I learned though when all the responsibility fell directly on me. For 6 weeks I was on my own in payroll then for two weeks I was doing accounts payable on my own. When Tracey came back I told her not to shred anything I had put in the shred box, until all my mistakes have time to surface and we can see if we need to go fishing for anything I threw away that I should have kept.

All in all it was a good experience, but not one I want to repeat anytime soon. I like my part-time work schedule that lets me make some money but also try to keep my house and church duties under control. In my opinion, the prophets knew what they were talking about when they said the wife's place is in the home because everytime I work full time everything gets turned topsy turvy!

By the way Bry thanks for the weekend away for our anniversary, I don't think I could have made it through the last week without that to look forward to.

Here we go, more blogging, no pictures. Maybe someday though.

Friday Addi came to spend the night. When she got here she said "Oh I should have brought some movies to watch." I said, "Grandpa has two new videos we can watch, Snow White and Beauty and the Beast; which one do you want to watch?" Her answer made me laugh, not the answer itself but how she said it. She said it so fast (about as fast as she tells the olive joke if you've heard her tell that, if you haven't you need to ask her to tell you it too.) but anyway, she was talking so fast and she clapped her hands together and was so excited as she said, "Beauty and the Beast, Diamond edition from Amy's little big world." I asked her where heard that and she said, "On Amy's little big world." ( Dah grandma, obviously, I should have known that.) I think she might have a future in infomercials.

We sat down to watch the movie, after about 20 minutes of me trying to work the blueray. About halfway through the movie it froze and nothing I did would make it work so I put in the regular DVD copy, after about 20 more minutes of trying to get the t.v. on the right input thing. (old people and modern technology, humph). Anyway, I finally got it going and we watched for a little while and Addi said, "Let's go to bed grandma." Well, after working so hard to get the movie going I wasn't about to stop watching it after only a few minutes so I told her she could lay on my lap and I would cuddle her while she slept and I watched the end of the movie. she said, "I'm not comfortable grandma." I said just lay here and rest, at which point she decided to take matters in to her own hands. She climbed down from my lap walked over and shut off the t.v. Well, what was I going to do, I could get up and turn the t.v. back on and in about 20 minutes have the movie going again or just give up and go to bed. I decided to take the easy way out so we went to bed.

I really had a great time with her, she is so cute. I had more fun watching her watch the movie than watching it myself. At one point in the movie when the wolves were chasing Belle's dad through the forest Addi got scared and grabbed my neck and climbed right up the side of me and buried her face in my neck. I kind of forget how scary some of those parts can be for a little one.

We had a great time. I can't wait until Oakley is big enough to come sleep over too and we can have twice the fun.
